Boston Olympiakos Team History

Boston Olympiakos
Since 1990

Boston Olympiakos (formerly Boston United) is an amateur men's Soccer club currently competing in the 1st division of the Massachusetts Adult State Soccer League (MSSL). Boston Olympiakos models the club of Olympiakos F.C. from Greece.

Founded by Nick Pseudoikonomou in 1990, as Boston United, the team has deservedly earned a reputation as the top amateur team in New England and one of the top teams in USASA.

In 1998 Boston United was renamed to Boston Olympiakos. The purpose of the name change was to model the popular Greek Champion Olympiakos Piraeus from Greece and started to use the same emblem and uniform colors to honor its parent team. The Boston Olympiakos home field is located at Madison Park Stadium in Roxbury, Ma. Besides capturing many local titles the most noticeable achievements of Boston Olympiakos are the two USASA National Amateur Cup crowns in 2010 and in 2007.

Being a founder and team coach, for 20 years, Nick Pseudoikonomou led his team to many local and national titles and championships, as a result Boston Olympiakos is recognized as one of the most competitive clubs in USASA (United States Adult Soccer Association) today.

Under the guidance of Pseudoikonomou the team achieved an unbelievable record of:
460 victories,
95 draws,
83 defeats.
This record gave Boston Olympiakos the reputation of the most successful Amateur team in Massachusetts for the last 55 years.

Another important successful drive was when the team qualified in 2008 in the quarter final phase of the National Open Cup, the highest cup competition in USA.

Besides the president-coach Nick Pseudoikonomou, important role to the promotion and recognition of the team was played from two more individuals:

Alex Tsalagas, Boston Olympiakos head coach since 2010, is considered one of the best coaches in Massachusetts, with the most successful record in the history of the Massachusetts Elite Player National Team, the highest National Program. He also led the team to its 2nd National title in 2010. While in 2011 coach Tsalagas drove the team an undefeated double champinship with the stanning record of 32 game undefeated streak. In 2012 once again Boston Olympiakos captured the MSSL Cup by defeating both strong and talented Portuguese teams back to back.

The other individual who has helped tremendously to the popularity of the team is George Boukouvalas, player/captain and assistant coach. He is the veteran player of team, who joined the squat in 1994 and his contribution in the course of the team's success was the most crucial.

Boston Olympiakos continues its journey to increase the popularity of its Greek model team Olympiakos FC in United States and hopes to become the most successful amateur team in USASA.
